Notes

This is a page where I keep my notes as I go... by Authors who already know.

Susan C. Bartoletti was a teacher. She got up every morning at 4 a.m. to write and later quit her teaching job. She stated, "Idea's grow in the dark."

Write. Set a time to write. Then Write.Schedule your time. Write a journal, plan projects, and then write. Start with 1 hour a day. Maybe 2 on Saturday and Sunday.

At very least keep a journal. Expression can keep you going when getting published is going nowhere.

Keep your day job. 5-10 years is the learning curve for starting out.

Authors and Illustrators are two different people even if it is just you.

When wanting to illustrate your own book - send 'tear' sheets. Copies of your art. Never pictures, slides and especially not the originals. (These are the examples of your work. The can go along with the story or not.

All these notes were found in the book;  Writing Children's Books for Dummies.
